Literature Text

Antique dismemberment
   of your eye -
tell me what you see
          when I am bare;
when I have nothing left
    to hide behind, and I am scared
           you'll only ever see
           the weaker side of me

     that you will not see anything
                 through the darkness;
that you will only see what I see.

And it is only human to judge.

Yet when I have shrugged off
                                                       my skin
                     and cast it aside
         and all I have been - all I am -
            is muscle
                and bones
                     and organs
laid before you
          (you look at me through a different lens)
                      and you tell me I am
              no less human than all others,
but that I am so much more.
It would be nice if I dated my artworks. Nonetheless, this was written in the middle of 2009 somtime.

For Joshua.

You worry too much about judgement. And you assume that everyone will judge you in a negative light. Not true!!
